Answers to Questions from the First AMA of Life is Feudal: MMO

Hello, Feudals! Thank you for engaging so enthusiastically with the first AMA session for Life is Feudal: MMO. We received numerous insightful questions about the game and upcoming updates. In this post, we'll be addressing the most popular and significant questions. Enjoy the read and best of luck in the world of Life is Feudal: MMO!

• Will the subscription be the only payment model upon release?

• The subscription model will remain exclusive, with no microtransactions or premium stores, including NFTs. We're actively developing a Free-to-play version too, more details on that coming soon. At present, though, the server will only support the subscription model.

• Will you be releasing objectives for the testing phase?

• Our primary goal is to optimize the game to a level that satisfies our players. We want to ensure all services and infrastructure are operating smoothly before the release.

• Will there be incentives for those who play the playtest?

• Indeed, we'll soon share more information about a new feature we're developing internally, called "subscription streak." It will reward players with various items based on their total active subscription time, including subscriptions made during the playtest.

• Is the subscription price final? The general consensus is that it's too high.

• At this moment, we have no plans to adjust the subscription cost.

• Which map will be live on release? General consensus is Godenland was too big for the ~1200 players it had when it released.

• At present, our plan is to release the game featuring the Godenland map. However, given the ongoing work on the game, support plans, and the need for technical and gameplay adjustments, we are actively exploring various potential options.

• What are your plans for the technical limitations of Torque3D?

• Our team consists of experienced developers. Some of them are real superheroes when it comes to Torque3D. We aim to maximize its capabilities. However, we're also exploring other options and will share everything worth discussing with you guys.

• Can you explain more about the "growing" rewards for the subscription?

• We're currently working on the "subscription streak" system. As it's still in development, we can't share full details. The essence of it is, the longer your subscription, the more valuable bonuses you get. These won't impact the core gameplay but will serve as cosmetic and status items.

• Why such a high price for an old game?

• The subscription price serves as the only monetization method for this game variant. It ensures fair gameplay, with victories achieved through effort, not purchases. It also helps us keep the servers in prime condition.

• How will Long Tale Games' version of LIF: MMO differ from Bitbox's?

• Long Tale Games is a different publisher, which entails reimagining the approach to game development and operations. We will take community feedback into consideration before making final decisions.

• Do you plan to shift the focus to local wars, enabling small guilds to access full content?

• We're conducting a playtest to collect your feedback and suggestions. We can't confirm specific gameplay decisions yet, but we ensure all ideas will be heard.

• Can you give an approximate day or month for the planned wipe?

• The wipe will coincide with the game's full release, planned for no later than Q3 2023. However, we'll only launch when we're certain the game is ready and the services are stable.

• Will you consider removing green zones due to potential griefing issues?

• We understand the concerns with green zones. We're considering ways to balance this without necessarily removing them.

• Could you address the mechanic of "onion-layer swords" that slows siege and if this could be fixed or banned?

• We appreciate the feedback and suggestions about game mechanics. They're crucial in our decisions for game changes in LIF: MMO, so we encourage you to keep sharing.

• Are you planning to provide a sensible and balanced combat update?

• We'll be working within the limits of Torque3D to improve the combat system based on player feedback.

• What do you mean by "different variants of the game"?

• Different game variants refer to standalone versions of LIF: MMO with differences in monetization, mechanics, or concept: subscription-based, free-to-play, open economy, PvE-focused, PvP-focused, etc.

• How will you attract new players and maintain a profitable player base?

• We'll employ standard strategies to attract new audiences, offering them game options that suit them best. The success criteria will differ for each game variant due to varying maintenance costs.

• Do you have a marketing budget and plan to attract and retain new players?

• Indeed, we do have a marketing budget, and we've already initiated marketing activities based on our thoughtfully-designed plan to attract players. We have an abundance of ideas for attracting new players and retaining our existing player base within the LIF: MMO community.

• Which company is supporting the new game servers of Life Is Feudal: MMO?

• Long Tale Games is fully supporting and operating the game.

• Does the relaunch include ongoing developments or just maintenance and infrastructure?

• At Long Tale Games, we're dedicated to improving the game and supporting the infrastructure. Our current focus is on bringing the game back to a stable state and optimization. We're also collecting feedback to ensure the game's development aligns with the community’s vision for it.

• Will there be PvE and PvP servers for NA players?

• We'll set up new servers as necessary. New game variants may also cater to players seeking specific mechanics like PvE or PvP.
