October Q&A

Greetings, Feudalists!

We know you've been waiting with bated breath for answers to your burning Q&A session questions. The wait has been a bit longer this time around, but we hope depth and clarity of our answers will make up for it. We appreciate your patience and are excited to finally share our responses with the Life is Feudal: MMO community. Let's dive right in!

Will there be a smaller map?

Yeah, we're planning on adding smaller maps in the future, they'll coexist with Godenland. But right now, our focus is on tackling the main technical and existing gameplay issues. Once we've got most of the bugs squashed and the game servers are running smoothly, we'll revisit the map addition. And not just maps 🙂 … But don’t expect new map anytime soon.

What are your top 3 plans to improve the dwindling player population?

Right now, we're working on a few things, including adding the smaller map we mentioned earlier, getting the game onto additional stores and platforms, and huge activity Life is Feudal:MMO veteran players. We'll definitely give you the lowdown on all of this as soon as we're ready. Plus, we're gearing up for a marketing campaign, collaborating with influencers, partnering with streamers, and planning other channels to draw in new players, among other things.

When do we get new content?

Coming real soon! This November, we've got some test events lined up for you, and after that, we'll be launching regular events. And by the first quarter of 2024, we'll be rolling out new buildings in the game. Of course, that's not all, but we'll keep the rest as a surprise for you.

Will you please release a roadmap to let us know what you're working on?

Indeed, we are presently in the final stages of preparing a roadmap for our community. This roadmap will detail the imminent updates. We anticipate making it public in the coming weeks.

What direction is this game headed?

We're planning to rebalance the game so that PvE and PvP content complement each other nicely. For that, we're planning to add PvPvE activities and balance the crafting accordingly. We want every player to feel comfortable and always find something they enjoy doing. On top of that, we're gonna make PvP more skill-based again real soon to encourage players to up their skills.

Is there a plan for claims in the Green Zone to expire, or having the land claimed for months after the player is un-subbed and no longer playing "working as intended"?

Yeah, that process will kick in automatically after a few weeks without a subscription.

Are you guys aware of the mechanics of the game like the calendar, that keeps breaking each "maintenance restart"? Are you going to keep 3 restarts per week to disrupt the game mechanics or are you going to fix the waiting for server issue?

We've rolled out a fix for the WFS bug with last patch, and we're planning to go back to our usual once-a-week maintenance schedule. Restarting the game servers three times a week was just a temporary measure. If you still encounter this issue, please get in touch with our support team.

What are the plans for the green zones? Will you do something to link pve and pvp players together?

We're planning to change up the personal claim logic so it works and can be placed anywhere in the world, like it's a green zone, but it can't be completely destroyed or looted. We'll definitely present you with a concept of this system so we can find the best way to implement it together.

What is being done about possible anti cheat?

We're looking into integrating one of the popular anti-cheat systems and testing its stability with the game client. As soon as we're done testing, we'll add it to the game.

What steps will be taken to balance and create a healthy game economy?

We know there are a few issues, and we're planning to start by fixing the base item sale prices. For deeper economic changes, we'll need to touch on core mechanics, and we need to gather more info for that analysis. It's better to do that after the gameplay changes we've planned.

What are your plans for more mid-game PVP and PVE loops to keep players playing in between the big sieges?

We're planning to increase rewards for completing basic tasks to make players more interested in doing them. We're not gonna leave new gameplay mechanics out of the loop either - we're considering adding various PvPvE activities and PvP/PvE  arenas, for example.

Can you add new resources, buildings, in general, new content to the game? If so, how much time will it take?

We do have that ability, and we'll definitely be doing it. Right now, we're actively studying, testing, and setting up this process, and as we mentioned earlier, you can expect new buildings in the first quarter of 2024. After that, it'll be easier for us to plan new content and give you a more accurate roadmap.

As for resources - we can add those too, but it's really important that they fit in organically with the gameplay and economy, and don't just become useless junk that we added just for fun. We've got a few ideas, but it's not our top priority right now.

In past AMAs it was said that the game would support modders. But we currently do not have access to the game code. Have you thought about making the game "semi-open" source?

Right now, we're not planning to give open access to the source code. Instead, we're focusing on collaborating with people with the right experience who responded to our form, as well as those whose published works we liked. If you have something to offer, by all means, get in touch!

Do you plan for players to create our own LIF MMO servers, in addition to the official ones?

Good thinking, we've even mulled over implementing it. But we've got higher-priority tasks on our plate for now, including technical ones. We'll revisit the topic of user servers in the future.

Are there plans to include LIF MMO on Steam or Epic Games in the short term?

Can't give a definite answer or share the details just yet, we first need to sort out some technical stuff. Keep an eye on the news, if the game comes back on Steam, you'll be the first to know.

When will the game be released?

We're aiming to launch version 1.0 in the first quarter of 2024. By our estimates, we should have the most stable version of the game by then, which will allow us to make changes and add new content faster.

When subs bonus system and prem items?

We're planning for that to happen before the end of this year. We're really eager to please you with this important addition as soon as possible, but we understand that rushing it isn't the way to go and we need to test everything carefully. We don't want the rewards to be underwhelming, so we're carefully calculating them.
